Good vs Evil
It says in the bible somewhere (not an expert on the bible, lol) that “God is a jealous God”. What does that mean?
When we read something that was written a long time ago, there are inevitably translation issues, at different levels. At any age of life, it becomes apparent that different cultures, languages, generations etc present communication issues, correct? Like in english culture/language, there was no ‘lol’ when I was young. I noticed that when my daughter was a teen, I could barely understand her communication with her friends. One reason is that everything is in flux, or changing all the time, including language. So since the bible has been translated a number of times into different languages, and the original was written millennia ago, it is a wonder that we can understand much of it at all today, right.
Now language is written/verbal symbols referencing aspects of reality designed for communication (from the concept of ‘commune’, which relates to two or more individuals ‘seeing the same thing at the same time at the same level’). Take the first word in the biblical quote from the opening line “God”. What that word meant back then could have had a very different meaning than today, right? For example, it could have meant the local chief. Or medicine man. Or head alien, lol. hahahaha
And the same issue with the word “Jealous”. Now I have noted in my life (and briefly pointed out in my writing here) that ‘Jealousy’ has been a major factor in most of any relationship issues I’ve experienced. Let me suggest you consider this. What is your response to others who are smarter, richer, better looking, more famous, better liked/loved, more successful, powerful etc than you? (also the converse) And is there a difference between those that are given by Nature (looks, IQ) and those that are attained by effort/personal action? One of the issues that this brings up is Justice/fairness, right? Can it be Just or fair that someone is born smarter or richer or better looking than oneself? What did they do to deserve that advantage? To examine that, we need to consider a few things. First, is the apparent advantage a real one? Could good looks or wealth be problems, not advantages? Next, what if there are prior lives that we know nothing about, and the advantages were earned back then? (that’s what I think is the case, BTW)
Now back to the original quote. For me, “God is a Jealous God” means that Gods creation (Nature) is perfect and absolute, and cannot legitimately be changed or even questioned. And human Jealousy is comparing oneself with another/others, and psychologically resisting/fighting Gods creation, which is one definition or part of ‘Evil’.
I’ve discussed to some degree the extant social system which I call the ‘Matrix’, from the movie (a highly recommended watch). It was clearly created by and for the advantage of the controlling ‘evil elite’. One interesting aspect of it is that it is based on a fatally flawed mental model, and one aspect of that is mathematics and physics. For example, there is in Nature no such thing as a perfectly straight line. Everything is in reality and at every level curved (even the whole universe). Cities and buildings are ugly and unharmonious because of (apparently) straight lines. In math, zero is considered a number, right? But it isn’t. It was invented as a math ‘spacer’, but was mistaken as a number. We can know it isn’t a number like this. Multiply zero by two (2 x 0 = 0). Add 0 + 0 = 0. The only numbers are one through nine, and multiples thereof. Zeros are merely spacers. Terrance Howard (the actor) is a genius who has figured some of this out. He points out that our very limited senses lead us astray. The matrix is evil because it resists Nature, and is based on insanity, corruption, jealousy, hate, violence and lies.
Sovereignty
To me that word, Sovereignty, is a symbol (like all language) referencing the critical aspect of the power we humans have all been blessed with by our creator, that being Freedom or self governance - the power to choose. If we didn’t possess it, could we be held responsible for our actions by the legal system? The simple answer is no. That means at least the courts consider it a reality, correct. We know we have it because we exercise it constantly every day. And the fundamental aspect of that which separates us from other animals which also possess it, is that only humans can misuse it and travel outside Nature and choose Evil actions. It’s this power that allows us to be referenced as either Angels or Demons.
Drugs
One challenge we all have is that everything can be misused. The word ‘Sin’ was originally an archery term which meant to miss the mark, or bullseye, on the target. It soon extended to refer to generally making errors or mistakes in other fields. Jesus is quoted as saying “Be ye perfect, as your Father in heaven is perfect”. What I think He meant was an exhortation to work towards the capability of hitting the bullseye, so avoiding sinning in order to avoid doing evil, and thus becoming perfected, yes. One important area this relates to is drug use, which has been an element in human life from time immemorial. In my early life I noticed that alcohol enabled one to moderate certain taboos, with the cost of loss of certain capacities and later pains (hangover). I contend that all evil stems from misuse (addictions) of some form of drugs, leading to harm to oneself and others. On the flip side, proper limited (non addictive) use of drugs can and have been used to further spiritual progress.
Economic Challenges
While going to the dentist in Nelson, BC yesterday (got surprisingly good news), and note while seeing very little of the town, (so there could easily be more) I passed no less than two homeless camps, one on the town edge and one on the administration lawn, no less. And this while the country is supposedly doing well.
Since there is evidence that tougher times are incoming, this is a clear sign that a disaster is at hand for our country (and the world). We have one of, if not the highest, real estate price to income rates in the world. I saw just recently that already Canadian housing prices are down from the peak from 5% - 25% nominal, and we can add another ~ 20% to that when the INFLATION monster consumer price increases are added. Housing remains effectively greatly unaffordable for the vast majority, and so is an untenable situation that thus cannot last. Barring a decades long stable, high growth and low inflation/interest rates economy (virtually impossible due to massive debt loads at all levels) real estate prices will continue to fall, which will devastate a country highly dependant on a growing real estate industry.
If printing currency was a viable solution to virtually all problems as is currently in vogue, especially in the 'advanced' west, it would have succeeded all the times it has been more locally attempted in the past. In every past case, without exception, it has resulted in hyperinflation, war and famine.
'This time is different' is not a strategy that has worked out in the past, and is not likely to work out this time. It is the narrative that the 'elites' are attempting to foist on us as they 'print print print'. This can only result in an ever increasing unsound debased currency.
I for one don't buy in to it, and I highly recommend my approach to everyone as THEY march us relentlessly towards "You (not them, BTW) will own nothing and be happy".
